Misc. Policies:

As a non-profit community organization, the BSAA requires a membership to regularly swim at our pool. The  pool is managed by a volunteer board and volunteers from the membership. Memberships are available for sale  to anyone living within the city limits of Huntsville, AL. 

Sale of Membership by current members: 

You may sell your pool membership to anyone living within the city limits of Huntsville, AL after notification  and approval of the BSAA board. Membership must be in good standing. A transfer fee of $35.00 will be  charged to the seller for all such transactions. In addition, the seller must provide the BSAA Board with the  Name, Address, & Phone Number of the new member. 

Non-Member Swim Team Annual Membership:  

Anyone who is not an Active BSAA Member can swim for the Byrd Spring Swim Team with the  purchase of an annual Swim only membership.  

Adding of Babysitters or children being babysat by current Members 

All members who plan on having a babysitter this season add them to your membership and put a babysitter by  their name. All members who plan on babysitting any children must contact the board for approval to add  anyone to their membership. Children “babysitting” other children will not be a valid option. Only adult  members will be considered babysitters. 

Inactive Status: 

Members may petition to become inactive for a one-year period by submitting a request in writing to the BSAA  Board no later than April 1st in order to be assigned an inactive status for one season. Upon approval by the  BSAA Board a $100 inactive Fee is due by April 30, 2023. Each year must be handled separately in the same  manner as above. 

Guest Policy 

Guests are allowed a total of 15 visits during the summer. A list will be kept in the office to keep track of each  guest’s visit. All children 18 & under MUST have a signed waiver to swim at the pool UNLESS they are  accompanied by an adult. It is the member’s responsibility to get the waiver signed by an adult. Waiver on  website. If there is no waiver on file, they WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO SWIM UNLESS they are  accompanied by an adult. The pool has the right to remove any guest if they aren’t following the rules.
